Quality animals were forward for the show and sale run by Harrison & Hetherington on Friday 1st March 2019 at Rosehill, Carlisle. Of the animals catalogued two were not forward on the day. Our sincere thanks to John Rowell from Dumfries House for judging the entries.

In the bull class Messrs Hewson’s Parton Capture went 1st to Parton Classic 2nd (12522), both bulls sired by stock bull Northwood William and sired by homebred dams, Parton Suzanna 86 and Parton Penelope 45 respectively. Parton Capture went on to be best bull and overall champion. Third place taken by Mr McTurk’s, homebred Barlaes Optimist by Barlaes Ling (12343) out of Barlaes White Heather 18th (06602).

Miss Emma Gray’s quality homebred and well turned out heifer Graylees Pinky, by Blackburn Marshall (12033) out of Hottbank Lucinda 3rd (05988) took the 1st prize rosette in the female class. The remaining entries were not forward for the show.

The sale of bulls was disappointing as their reserves in the ring were just out of reach of the bids on the day. The females sold well with Graylees Pinky in calf to Sewingshields Jonjo selling for 1450gns and the remaining females averaging 980gns with two very pleasing heifers from G & K Gilligan going to a new breeder.
